I lived in Japan for four years—Land of the Rising Sun. It holds a special place in my heart. The kanji (and name of this painting) is “Following the Pure Thought,” which for me means ‘no thought.’ Which is what I seek in meditation and in creating art. All feelings—no thought—just essence.
